The Renaissance Ethos
The Yin and Yang symbol was chosen as the Renaissance Retreat logo, as it reflects our holistic philosophy of balance. By holistic we mean looking at the individual as a whole: ie Mind, Body and Spirit. This triangle represents the three inseparable components of our well-being, and when one component is “off-track” the individual may feel unwell or unhappy. Balance is essential for harmony and health.

Our Holistic Approach
According to ancient Chinese philosophy, the dual principles of nature, Yin and Yang, manifest throughout nature and in the human body. They relate to mental, physical, and spiritual structure, and are affected by food, drink, action, and inaction. The Renaissance programmes look at how we fuel our bodies, and how we treat them mentally and physically, with the aim of introducing lifestyle changes to restore balance.

Achieving the Work/Life Balance
The concept of “work-life balance” should be a priority to everyone. However, many of our guests are successful professional people working long hours in stressful jobs, who never allow themselves "me time", nor a social life. They find themselves in a vicious circle. Due to working long hours, friendships drift and relationships become difficult, so they work even longer hours to fill the empty void.

Restoring the Balance
Overall, regardless of whether our clients are fit or unfit, overweight or with the perfect BMI, what they need can be found at the Renaissance Retreat. We are a small and friendly hosted environment where people can:
- make new friends,
- get fit,
- lose weight if necessary,
- relax, unwind & de-stress,
- dine together,
- and generally share their experiences of the day.

What We Offer

These packages combine exercise and healthy eating for the Body, with Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques to increase self-esteem, and to introduce a more positive outlook; plus massage, yoga & meditation to soothe the Spirit.
